How do you approach a new project?

We start with a paid discovery phase, one to two weeks at a fixed cost. During discovery we map your business requirements to a technical architecture, identify risks before they become expensive, and produce a detailed scope document with realistic timelines. If we are not the right fit, you keep the spec document and can take it anywhere.

What's your typical timeline?

It depends on what you are building. An MVP or proof of concept is typically 2 to 6 weeks, a production-ready application 3 to 5 months, and a complex system with integrations 5 to 8 months. These assume a responsive client; slow feedback adds weeks. We give a specific estimate after discovery.

What if the project scope changes mid-build?

Scope changes happen and we do not pretend otherwise. Small adjustments are absorbed; larger changes trigger a scope review where we show you the time and cost impact before proceeding. We use modular architecture so changes do not require rebuilding from scratch.

Where are you based, and do you work with the GCC?

Orchidix is US-based and works with startups and small teams in both the US and the GCC. We work remotely, with overlapping hours arranged per client. We have built Arabic-first, right-to-left products for the Gulf (Sihhati) and privacy-first mobile apps on AWS (Virtue).

What is your tech stack?

For mobile we use Flutter, one codebase for iOS and Android. For web we use Next.js and React. For AI we work with OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, or open-source models like Llama and Mistral, plus RAG pipelines and agent frameworks; we are model-agnostic and choose per project. Infrastructure depends on the project and is often AWS.

Do you build AI agents and RAG systems?

Yes. We build custom agents and copilots, and RAG systems that answer from your own knowledge base. We add evals and guardrails so they hold up with real users, and human handoff when the model is not confident. The AI Agent Platform we built runs WhatsApp customer service on a RAG pipeline.

Can you add AI to a product we already have?

Yes. A lot of our work is integrating LLMs, search, or agents into software you already run, rather than building from scratch. We scope the integration during discovery so it fits your codebase and holds up in production.

Do you build Arabic-first and right-to-left apps?

Yes. Sihhati is Arabic-first with right-to-left layout throughout and a food database tuned to GCC diets. We handle native Arabic rather than machine translation, and right-to-left layouts end to end.

We sign NDAs, support GDPR compliance and SOC 2 readiness, and scope security to each project. Virtue, for example, was built privacy-first on AWS, with sensitive data handled carefully end to end.

It depends on scope, so we do not quote a number before we understand the work. Every engagement starts with a paid, fixed-cost discovery phase that produces a real spec and a realistic budget. You approve the build cost before we write production code. No hourly guessing and no open-ended retainers.

How does billing work?

Discovery is a fixed fee. The build is scoped and priced after discovery, delivered in modular pieces you can see every week. You pay for defined work, not open-ended time.

What determines the cost?

Mostly scope: how many core flows, how much AI and data work, how many integrations, and whether it is a new build or added to an existing product. Discovery exists to turn those unknowns into a number you can plan around.
